Cultivating Humanity
Dynamic Maturity and Personal Growth
The name Cultivating humanity groups five challenges that arise in family life and society, divided into sub-themes. Exploring each of them makes it easier to learn about and find the content we offer:
1. Developing a Christian personality
2. Body and heart
3. Healthy Psyche
4. Friendship and the relational dimension
5. Work and personal development
For each of these topics, we will include bibliographical suggestions, initiatives and various resources (programs for specific classes or sessions, articles, videos, podcasts, etc.), to help the work of those who intervene more directly in the formation and global development of other people, from a Christian perspective. These include parents, educators and priests.
Cultivating humanity in the formative work implies promoting the fullness of the human condition and, as a consequence, responding better to the specific vocation and mission. This, for a Christian, involves seeking identification with Christ, the fruit of grace and virtues: living one’s vocation with inner freedom, out of love.
Emphasis is placed on how to integrate the affective dimension in the different contexts of the person: family relationships, friendships, professional work and, of course, in dealing with God.
Topics influencing the process of human maturity
Everything that happens to a person, his inner experiences, his relationship with the environment and with others, conditions his development and growth. We have identified these five themes, and we focus on them, because in the context of today’s society they have a special influence on psychological and spiritual maturity. The ability to be happy, to have a successful and fulfilling life depends to a large extent on a good understanding of them.
In each issue of Cultivating Humanity we present a list of links to useful initiatives and bibliography, which we update periodically, also with the comments and contributions that reach us.
We are grateful for the suggestions of our readers and we are sure that this initiative will continue to grow, with the help of many.
